The Bruery Portified 2027 Edition Lands With Cacao Disposition

The Bruery Portified 2027 Edition Lands With Cacao Disposition

The Bruery Portified has a 2027 edition on the way at a 19.8% ABV punch. The Placentia, California, brewery is also lining up Cacao Disposition, a 14.9% bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout, according to MyBeerBuzz, which published both labels.

One caveat up front: this is a single-source report. MyBeerBuzz says The Bruery has not yet released dates, prices or official tasting notes for either beer.

What’s in The Bruery Portified

Per the label and release information, Portified is a port barrel-aged imperial stout aged for 16 months, then finished in French oak puncheons with Syrah grapes. It weighs in at 19.8% ABV and comes in a 12.7-ounce bottle. MyBeerBuzz describes the label as a restrained cream design with the name in bold lettering.

Port barrels, French oak and Syrah grapes is an unusual stack for a stout. The Bureau would love to tell you how it tastes, but no tasting notes have been released, so the flavor stays classified.

Cacao Disposition, the bourbon sibling

Cacao Disposition is a bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout with cacao nibs at 14.9% ABV, also in a 12.7-ounce bottle. MyBeerBuzz says the supplied release information names Elijah Craig bourbon barrels and TCHO Ghana cacao nibs. Its label goes darker, with copper and gold tones, per MyBeerBuzz.

More from The Bruery

The Bruery has been busy with dark beers. BeerAlien recently covered Lumen Noctis, its Black Tuesday blend with Celestial Mechanics, and earlier the Black Tuesday release. There was also news of Bottle Logic joining The Bruery Group.

When The Bruery announces dates and prices for The Bruery Portified and Cacao Disposition, the Bureau will report back. Until then, keep a cellar slot open.
