The Bruery Vanilla Rain is a new bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout with vanilla beans, and it’s planned for 2027. The label art was published by MyBeerBuzz, credited “Images Courtesy of The Bruery.” It lists 19.9% ABV in a 12.7 fl. oz. bottle, brewed and bottled by The Bruery in Placentia, California.
What the The Bruery Vanilla Rain label says
The label places the beer squarely in the Rain family. Here’s the brewery’s description in full:
Born from the legendary richness of Chocolate Rain, Vanilla Rain puts Madagascar vanilla beans in the spotlight, exploring their remarkable depth and complexity. Aged in Elijah Craig and Heaven Hill bourbon barrels, this imperial stout reveals aromas of vanilla, oak, and dark chocolate, followed by notes of vanilla cake, brûléed figs, and chocolate truffle. Full-bodied with a long, decadent finish, it’s an indulgent celebration of vanilla.”
MyBeerBuzz also reports that the label recommends storing and serving it at 55°F. That’s cellar temperature, not fridge temperature, which is good advice for any beer this close to 20%.
- Style: Bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout with vanilla beans
- ABV: 19.9%
- Size: 12.7 fl. oz. bottle
- Barrels: Elijah Craig and Heaven Hill bourbon
- Vanilla: Madagascar beans
- Serve at: 55°F, per the label
How will it be sold? Unclear
This is where the Bureau’s scanners hit static. MyBeerBuzz says no launch date, price, bottle allocation or distribution has been confirmed. The Bruery Vanilla Rain also doesn’t appear on The Bruery’s 2027 Reserve Society membership list. That list does include a different vanilla stout, So Happens It’s Tuesday: Vanilla (2027), a bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout with vanilla listed for October 2027 in 375 mL bottles.
So for now we don’t know whether The Bruery Vanilla Rain will be a public release, a tasting-room exclusive or part of some other membership, and we won’t guess. Watch The Bruery’s own channels for the announcement.
More Bruery heavyweights
If this kind of thing is your gravitational pull, we’ve also covered the 2027 edition of The Bruery Portified and the Lumen Noctis Black Tuesday blend with Celestial Mechanics.
Until a date appears, The Bruery Vanilla Rain remains a label, a forecast and a very good reason to keep 55°F space in the cellar.
Transmission ends. Chance of vanilla: 100%.
