Black Tuesday is an immensely complex and layered imperial stout. The base beer lends itself to the flavors imparted from over a year spent in Bourbon barrels. When first opened, the nose is immediately enveloped in aromas of burnt almond and Foie gras and cotton candy. Simultaneously, the palate is met with hints of bourbon-poached fig, Crème Brûlée, and Amaretti di Saronno cookies. The mid-palate is then briefly treated to nuanced notes of malted milk balls and rich, stewed raspberries. It finishes boldly with hints of Australian style licorice, notably, and cherry wood-smoked shoyu. Cheers!
