International Stout Day 2026 is today, Thursday, Nov. 5, and in San Diego it doubles as an unofficial head start on Beer Week. Pure Project is pouring $5 pints of Milagro, its 5.3% nitro dry stout with Costa Rican coffee and vanilla, at all five of its taprooms.
Pure Project’s International Stout Day lineup
Pure’s Stout Day event page lists 1–9 p.m. and adds a 6.9% stout slushie called Cool Beans. It blends Hazelsaurus Rex (an imperial stout with coffee and hazelnuts) and Milagro with vanilla ice cream, then gets topped with instant coffee.
- Milagro $5 pints: all Pure Project taprooms
- Cool Beans slushie: North Park (2867 El Cajon Blvd.), Balboa Park (2865 5th Ave.), Vista and Carlsbad only, while supplies last. Miramar isn’t on the slushie list.
- Date note: the slushie page says Nov. 5 at the top but “Thursday, Nov. 6th” in its fine print. Nov. 6 is a Friday, and Pure’s Beer Week page puts the slushie on Thursday, Nov. 5.
Pure’s Beer Week schedule then kicks off officially Friday with a 7 p.m. toast at every taproom. Our San Diego Beer Week 2026 guide has the rest of the week.
Stout Day beyond San Diego
North Carolina
In Durham, The Glass Jug Beer Lab is pouring Coffee Deviation and Horchata Deviation in cans and on draft at its RTP location from 4 to 10 p.m. A draft-only blend of Deviation and Seismic Planet Barleywine is also on, plus guest taps.
UK pubs mark International Stout Day
The Morning Advertiser rounded up a run of new UK stouts timed to the day:
- Tennent’s Stout, 4%, which Tennent’s says marks its return to a style first brewed at Glasgow’s Wellpark Brewery in 1740
- Timothy Taylor’s new 4.2% cask-only stout
- Badger DarkSpire, a 5% coconut and cocoa stout
- New Bristol Brewery’s 6% Ferrero Rocher-inspired stout with Attic, the first of its Six Stouts of Christmas
- Wiper and True Black Forest Shake, a 5.6% cherry stout
Raise a dark one
Whether it’s a $5 nitro pint in North Park or a slushie, today is the excuse. If you’d rather sip something heavier, see our November barrel-aged stout releases.
