Fathers Beer, the Lafayette, California, brand behind Fathers Clean American Lager and Fathers Clean American Light Lager, announced a $2 million funding round on Nov. 5, 2026. The round includes an investment from chef and TV host Robert Irvine, who joins as a strategic investor and partner, according to the company’s press release.
The company did not disclose a valuation, the other investors in the round or the size of Irvine’s stake.
What the money is for
Fathers says the capital will support consumer sampling, retail activations, local events and targeted marketing aimed at building demand with new audiences. The announcement came six months after the brand began working with distributors.
Company-reported growth
All of the following figures come from Fathers’ announcement:
- Over five months, the brand went from self-distributing in two California counties to eight distributor partners covering 51 counties in California, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
- Within six weeks of its Philadelphia launch it added more than 300 retail locations, including ACME (Albertsons), Costco, ShopRite and Gopuff accounts.
- In California, it lists Trader Joe’s and Erewhon as new additions alongside Whole Foods, Nugget, Total Wine, BevMo, Costco and Sprouts.
- In total, the brand says it now reaches more than 800 retail locations.
Why Robert Irvine
Irvine is best known for Food Network’s Restaurant: Impossible. The release notes he co-founded FITCRUNCH, the protein snack brand acquired in 2024 by Bain Capital-backed 1440 Foods, and that he founded the Robert Irvine Foundation in 2014 to support service members, veterans, first responders and their families.
“I’m investing because I see a business with tremendous potential, and I intend to be an active part of helping it grow,” Irvine said in the release.
Co-founder Joe Cloyes said the funding will help the company “support our distributor and retail partners and introduce more people to Fathers.” Fathers and Irvine say they intend to explore a future cause-marketing collaboration benefiting the foundation, with specifics to be announced later.
Who’s behind Fathers
Cloyes previously co-founded skincare brand Youth To The People, which the release says was acquired by L’Oréal. Co-founder Conor Begley co-founded influencer-marketing company Tribe Dynamics, acquired by CreatorIQ. Fathers describes its beers as American lagers brewed with organic ingredients, sold in glass bottles and on draft. More information is on the Fathers website.
