Victory Java Reserve: 13.5% Bourbon Barrel-Aged Coffee Stout Label, Plus Java Cask

Victory Java Reserve: 13.5% Bourbon Barrel-Aged Coffee Stout Label, Plus Java Cask

Victory Java Reserve, a 13.5% ABV bourbon barrel-aged coffee stout from Victory Brewing Company, has an approved federal label, along with a returning 13% Java Cask. Both labels were approved Sept. 23, according to Hop Grail, which tracks TTB filings. Neither beer has been seen in stores yet, and Victory has not announced a release date or distribution.

What the Victory Java Reserve label says

Label text published by MyBeerBuzz describes Java Reserve this way:

“Ten months in bourbon barrels brings a deeper edge to this beloved brew. Layering rich espresso and roasted malt with bold charred oak and smooth vanilla. Java Reserve honors three decades of brewing. For the first time ever, it’s brewed with our neighbors at Twin Valley Coffee.”

The can also reads “Dark Wednesday 2026,” “Limited Release,” “Celebrating 30 Years” and “Brewed in Downingtown, PA,” in a one-pint (16-ounce) can. It names Southern Tier Distilling Co. and Twin Valley Coffee.

Java Cask returns

The Java Cask label calls it a fan favorite that “makes a special comeback to mark 30 years of Victory and our first-ever collaboration with Twin Valley Coffee,” with “bold notes of vanilla and sweet toasted oak” that “unfold into layers of roasted coffee and dark malts.” It is listed at 13% ABV in cans.

What is still unclear

  • Release date, price and distribution. None has been announced.
  • What “Dark Wednesday 2026” refers to. Victory has not explained it in anything the Bureau has seen.
  • Southern Tier’s role. The label names Southern Tier Distilling Co., while MyBeerBuzz describes the collaboration as with sister brewery Southern Tier Brewing Company. We report both.
  • Java Cask’s barrel type. MyBeerBuzz calls it bourbon barrel-aged; the quoted label text and Hop Grail say only barrel-aged.
  • Hop Grail also shows a second Victory Java Reserve label approved Oct. 2, which may be a revision.

Victory is marking its 30th year in 2026. For more on the brewery’s recent growth, see our post on Victory’s Philadelphia brewery and taproom. Until Victory confirms dates, treat Victory Java Reserve as a label, not a release.
