Boneyard Pub Closes in Bend; Lake Place Taproom and Brewery Stay Open

Boneyard Pub Closes in Bend; Lake Place Taproom and Brewery Stay Open

Boneyard Pub, Boneyard Beer’s restaurant at 1955 NE Division St. in Bend, Ore., is closing, and Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026, is its scheduled final day. The brewery itself isn’t going anywhere: the original taproom at 37 NW Lake Place and the production brewery keep running, according to the press release published by the Northwest Beer Guide.

Boneyard announced the closure on Sept. 10, giving Bend’s beer-drinking population one month of notice to go say goodbye. Earthlings are sentimental organisms, and a month is about the right length for a proper round of farewell pints.

Why Boneyard Pub is closing

The short version: Boneyard is leaving the restaurant business, not the beer business. The release says the pub is run as a separate business from the tasting room and production brewery.

Running a restaurant these days has had its challenges. I am incredibly humbled and grateful to my team and the community for making Boneyard what it is today.

Tony Lawrence, Boneyard Beer founder, in the Sept. 10 release

Lawrence, who founded Boneyard in 2010, added that the brewery was famously built from “parts from 13 different breweries,” and that the same could be said of the pub and tasting room. “We’re going back to where it all started, at our Lake Place tasting room and brewery,” he said.

A construction philosophy of found parts and stubbornness. The Bureau’s own spacecraft were assembled the same way.

Boneyard Pub opened on Division Street in 2018, according to Boneyard’s pub page, which promised 20-plus taps, pub food and a wraparound patio facing Pilot Butte. The release said the team would spend the pub’s final weeks helping employees find other work at Boneyard, at Deschutes Brewery and elsewhere in the community.

The last day and what happens next

Boneyard’s site lists the closing date as Oct. 11. A Source Weekly event listing has the local band LeftSlide playing a free closing party at Boneyard Pub from 5 to 7 p.m. that day. As of Sunday afternoon, the Bureau had not seen a post from Boneyard confirming the doors had closed for good, so treat Oct. 11 as the scheduled final day.

For anyone holding leftover plastic:

  • Gift cards: Boneyard Pub gift cards will be honored at the Lake Place taproom through the end of 2026.
  • Where to drink Boneyard now: the original Lake Place taproom, plus the many Bend bars that pour RPM, which the release says shows up “at nearly every bar and restaurant” in town.
  • Updates: the release points to Boneyard’s Instagram, @boneyardbeer, for further announcements.

RPM IPA sales are up, says Boneyard

The closure doesn’t come from a shrinking brewery, at least by Boneyard’s own numbers. The release calls RPM IPA, the flagship, the top-selling craft beer in Oregon. It says Boneyard’s sales are up 32.5% this year and that RPM’s volume sales in the Pacific Northwest are up 42.8% year to date. Both figures carry footnotes in the release, but the published copy doesn’t say what data they come from, so these are Boneyard’s claims, not independently checked numbers.

Restaurants are hard and IPA is easy to love. Even from orbit, that pattern is visible.

Planning a farewell lap of Bend? The Bureau’s earlier report on the reimagined Bend Ale Trail still makes a decent star chart.

Is Boneyard Beer closing?
No. Only Boneyard Pub on NE Division St. is closing. The Lake Place taproom at 37 NW Lake Place and the production brewery keep operating, according to Boneyard.
Can I still use a Boneyard Pub gift card?
Yes. Boneyard says pub gift cards will be honored at the Lake Place taproom through the end of 2026.
When is Boneyard Pub's last day?
Boneyard set the closing date for Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026, with a free closing party from 5 to 7 p.m. listed by the Source Weekly.
