New Trail Frosted Pines, an 8.5% hazy double IPA from New Trail Brewing Co. in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, has turned up as a new 16-ounce can label. A second label also surfaced: Lemon Vanilla Cookie, a 7.5% milkshake-style IPA. Both were first reported by MyBeerBuzz on Oct. 30.
This is a label sighting, not a release announcement. New Trail hasn’t confirmed a release date or distribution for either beer, so treat what follows as what’s printed on the cans.
New Trail Frosted Pines: what the label says
The Frosted Pines label lists four hops (Amarillo, Simcoe, Centennial and Talus) and a grain bill of oats, red wheat and white wheat. Under “Notes of,” New Trail prints two things: “Orange Zest” and “Dynamic Dankness.”

About the name
The can art shows snow-covered mountains, evergreen trees and falling snow. Despite the name, the ingredient list doesn’t include pine, spruce or any other tree additions. MyBeerBuzz notes the same: “There is no indication on the label that the beer contains actual pine, spruce or other tree-derived additions.” The name and art set a winter mood, and the flavor notes on the label are orange zest and dankness. Our long-range scanners report a forest on the can, not in the can.
Lemon Vanilla Cookie rides along
The second label, Lemon Vanilla Cookie, is a 7.5% milkshake-style IPA, also in 16-ounce cans. That’s all that’s been published so far. No ingredient list, tasting notes or release timing has surfaced for this one either.
New Trail Frosted Pines and the brewery’s hazy lineup
New Trail was founded in January 2018, according to MyBeerBuzz. It started sending canned beer to market in April 2018, the same month its tasting room opened. Broken Heels Hazy IPA became one of its signature beers, and Double Broken Heels followed as a stronger version. Frosted Pines adds another strong hazy IPA to that lineup.
The brewery’s tasting room is at 240 Arch St., Building 18, in Williamsport. Hours listed on New Trail’s website are 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 3 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, noon to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. The site describes the room as human- and dog-friendly, with PA wines, PA-inspired cocktails and food trucks. If these beers land, that’s the first place we’d check.
