Gizmo Brew Works had this to say about their release of the Black Is Beautiful multiple brewery collaboration started by Weathered Souls Brewing:
“We at Gizmo Brew Works are proud to announce that we have joined an initiative created by Weathered Souls Brewing Company (WSBC) to raise awareness for the injustices people of color face daily and raise funds for police brutality reform and legal defenses for those who have been wronged. We have spearheaded this initiative by leading a team of ten other local breweries, Crosby Hops, and LD Carlson to brew Black Is Beautiful. Black Is Beautiful is a 10% Imperial Stout that was designed by WSBC to be a moderately high abv. stout to showcase the different shades of black. Not only will we be donating 100% of proceeds to the ACLU of NC, but we are also making the commitment to the long-term work of equality. Highest praises to everyone over at WSBC, out of Texas, for inspiring us and taking the lead.”
This version of “Black Is Beautiful” was brewed by Gizmo Brew Works, Top of the Hill, Fullsteam, Carolina Brewing, Raleigh Brewing, Lynnwood Brewing, Neuse River Brewing, Compass Rose Brewing, Clouds Brewing, Jordan Lake Brewing and Tobacco Road Brewing.
