A tour bus has been sighted trading itself for a sailboat. Tropical Hazy Blues, a limited juicy IPA from Oskar Blues Brewery, is available on draft and in 6-packs from Oct. 14 through Nov. 30, 2026, according to the brewery’s new-beer alert, which lists its Brevard, N.C., and Longmont, Colo., taprooms.
What Tropical Hazy Blues is
Oskar Blues pitches Tropical Hazy Blues as a spin on its Hazy Blues: “Don’t call it a B-side, this is what happens when Hazy Blues trades in the tour bus for a sailboat.”
In the brewery’s marketing copy, it is “a juicy IPA bent toward the sun with ripe fruit up front, a soft, hanging haze, and a finish that doesn’t ask much of you except another sip.” The copy closes with a travel note: “Let this blissful bevvy be your boat ride to that big beach in the back of your mind. Bon Voyage!”
Decoding the brewery’s metaphor for the interstellar record: the tour bus is the original Hazy Blues, and the sailboat is this tropical-leaning seasonal version. Oskar Blues does not say how the recipe differs from the original.
The Bureau notes that Earthlings in Colorado and the North Carolina mountains are being offered a beach. This is a well-documented human coping strategy for late autumn.
Tropical Hazy Blues availability
- Style: juicy IPA (per Oskar Blues)
- Formats: draft and 6-packs
- Window: Oct. 14 to Nov. 30, 2026, “for a limited time”
- Taprooms: Brevard, N.C., and Longmont, Colo.
Oskar Blues does not list an ABV or hop bill for Tropical Hazy Blues on the event page, so the Bureau is not reporting either. Specific hops and fruit are also unstated; “ripe fruit” is as far as the brewery goes.
Field notes
A limited release that runs six and a half weeks is a fairly generous portal by craft-beer standards. Still, “limited time” means the 6-packs may not last until Nov. 30 everywhere. Check with your nearest Oskar Blues taproom or retailer before you set sail for Tropical Hazy Blues.
