Lowlander Brewing Throws Launch Party as Its Pioneer Square Brewhouse Goes Live

Lowlander Brewing is finally pouring beer it brewed itself. The Seattle beer hall throws a launch party on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, from 5 to 9 p.m. at 419 Occidental Ave. S. in Pioneer Square to celebrate its basement brewhouse going live. Until now, the house recipes were brewed somewhere else.

Lowlander Brewing launch party details

Per the Washington Beer Blog and Lowlander’s own site:

  • When: Wednesday, Oct. 21, 5–9 p.m.
  • Where: 419 Occidental Ave. S., at RailSpur in Pioneer Square
  • Tickets: $20, covering guaranteed entry, a branded Lowlander glass and your first beer
  • Walk-ins: welcome, but they don’t get the glass

The Pioneer Square event listing calls it a “full tank party” with eight beer styles to sample, including fresh-hop releases.

What’s on tap

The Washington Beer Blog lists house favorites including the 1979 Lager and The Bird West Coast IPA, plus limited fresh-hop seasonals made with freshly harvested Washington-grown hops. The lineup runs from hop-forward IPAs and crisp lagers to traditional German-style beers. The one the brewery is clearly proud of is The Perfect Game, a helles lager that has been conditioning for more than 10 weeks. Patience, in lager terms, is a flavor.

No ABVs or prices for individual beers were published, so the Bureau won’t guess.

A brewery in the basement, tanks over the bar

The signature feature is the tank bar. According to Hoodline, the subterranean brewhouse pumps beer straight into stainless steel tanks suspended above the bar, and pours come from those tanks rather than kegs. Hoodline, citing RailSpur, says the setup cuts the need for extra carbon dioxide, and notes it’s common in the Czech Republic and the UK but rare in the United States. Think of it as a Czech-style tankovna with a Seattle zip code.

Lowlander Brewing opened on Dec. 14, 2025, per the Washington Beer Blog’s opening report. At that point the brewhouse wasn’t running, and the beer was made “at another brewery across town.” Hoodline identifies that brewery as Stoup and says Lowlander was waiting on city approvals for its own facility. If you have watched other breweries bring a new system online, like FlyteCo’s pilot system, you know the paperwork can take longer than the brewing.

Who is behind Lowlander Brewing

Lowlander Brewing is one of three connected Sea Creatures concepts at RailSpur, from James Beard Award-winning chef Renee Erickson. The others are a New York-style pizza spot and a smaller, more formal restaurant. The space is the former home of F.X. McRory’s, the Pioneer Square institution near the stadiums.

The beer comes from head brewer Josh Waldman, whom the Washington Beer Blog calls “a well-known and respected veteran of the Seattle brewing scene.” Hoodline, citing Fabulous Washington, lists Elysian Brewing, Georgetown Brewing and Cloudburst Brewing on his résumé.

Getting there on game day

The hall sits at King Street and Occidental Avenue, steps from Lumen Field and T-Mobile Park. Lowlander’s site lists daily hours of 3 to 9 p.m. Seattle has seen themed halls before, from the Viking-themed Skål Beer Hall to dog-friendly stops on the Seattle Brewery Pup Passport, but beer poured from tanks over your head is a new species for this sector. Fans of Northwest West Coast IPA can warm up with our look at the pFriem and Fort George companion IPAs.
