Kannah Creek Brewing Company in Grand Junction, Colorado, will close after service on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, its 21st anniversary, and it plans to go out with a live band, KKCO 11 News reports. Owners Jim and Bernadette Jeffrys, both in their 70s, are retiring. For what KKCO calls a “cornerstone Grand Junction spot,” the final countdown has begun, and the Bureau is logging every tick.
The brewery’s own website now carries the message directly: “our last day of service will be october 24th,” followed by “thank you for your support!”

Why Kannah Creek Brewing is closing
It’s retirement, not a crash landing. According to KKCO, Jim Jeffrys started homebrewing, discovered he had a knack for it and went to brewing school, which led the couple to open the brewery in 2005. The station says they tried to sell the business for the past several years but couldn’t find a committed buyer, and they didn’t want to put off retirement any longer.
“We appreciated that the community has accepted us,” Bernadette Jeffrys told KKCO. “We think we’ve been a good citizen of the community and made some good contributions, and we’ll miss that. Our employees, our customers and just Grand Junction in general. We love it here, so we appreciate all that.”
Jim Jeffrys said some of his best memories come from the staff parties over the years. “So, we just really appreciate our employees and what they’ve done to help us, and we just love them,” he told the station.
The brewery’s site sums up two decades the same way: “we have enjoyed serving you the best beer in town for the last 21 years!”
Is this the end of the signal?
Maybe not entirely. “So, it’s closing but there’s still some possibilities depending on what happens with the property,” Bernadette Jeffrys told KKCO. Nothing more specific has been announced, and Bureau sensors aren’t going to guess.
One open question: the Kannah Creek website also features its sister brewpub, Edgewater Brewery. The KKCO report covers only Kannah Creek, so we don’t know whether the closing affects Edgewater. We’ll update this transmission if that changes.
As for the Jeffryses, Bernadette told KKCO they’re looking forward to traveling and visiting baseball stadiums around the U.S. Safe travels, Earthlings. If Kannah Creek was your local docking bay, you have until 10 p.m. on Oct. 24 to raise one more glass.
