Inland North County is getting a new landmark, so here’s the map: this guide to Escondido and San Marcos breweries covers 10 taprooms and beer stops along state Route 78, each checked on Nov. 1, 2026 for open status, address and hours. It’s timed for San Diego Beer Week 2026 (Nov. 6-15) and for Quarry Escondido, the Stone founders’ reboot of the old World Bistro & Gardens, which is reported to open Nov. 14.
Reference Log
Every listing links to the source we checked, usually the business’s own website. Hours shift around holidays and beer week events, so treat this as a snapshot from Nov. 1, 2026 and confirm before you drive. For the rest of the county, see our San Diego brewery list. Places that have closed or that we couldn’t verify are listed at the end.

Escondido
Quarry Escondido (the former Stone World Bistro & Gardens)
The big one. Stone’s Escondido bistro page still showed its regular hours on Nov. 1, 2026, and the last Stone-branded dinner is Friday, Nov. 13. Co-founders Greg Koch and Steve Wagner will reopen the site as an independent restaurant called Quarry Escondido, with Stone beers alongside a wider craft list. The New York Post, citing San Diego Magazine, reported a Nov. 14 opening, but Quarry’s own website only says “opening late 2026” and hasn’t posted hours. Call (760) 294-7866 before you go.
Burgeon Beer Co. The Oasis
Carlsbad’s Burgeon runs this outdoor beer garden near downtown Escondido. Burgeon says it’s within walking distance of the downtown train and bus station, with 15 taps, rotating food trucks, to-go 4-packs, crowlers and growlers, and dogs welcome. Burgeon’s site points to Yelp for holiday hours.
Barley & Sword Brewing (The Tavern)
North Park’s Barley & Sword opened its Escondido outpost, The Tavern, on West Grand Avenue. The brewery describes its approach as keeping “our craft simple, our beer traditional,” and its site lists a shared events calendar for both locations.
The Escondido Social Taproom
This one doesn’t brew. It’s a small beer and wine bar in the former Little Miss Brewing tasting room on Kalmia Street, and it opened in October 2026. Its site promises a rotating selection of craft beers and boutique wines, and outside food is welcome. It’s the latest-opening spot on this list on Fridays and Saturdays.
San Marcos
Pizza Port Tasting Room
Pizza Port’s San Marcos tasting room sits at its secondary production facility, which opened in 2023 with a 30-barrel system, according to Pizza Port. That’s more than double the size of anything else in the family. It keeps weekday-only hours, so it’s an after-work stop rather than a weekend one.
The Lost Abbey: The Sanctuary
The Lost Abbey’s neighborhood tasting room in San Elijo Hills opened in November 2019. The company says it has 20-plus beers on tap, two large rooms and a patio with a chimney for cooler nights. Its own page loads hours from a live widget that didn’t display when we checked, so the hours here come from the claimed Yelp listing.
Michi Brew Co.
Michi is a small independent brewery with an island theme. Its website tagline is “LET’S GET TROPICAL”, and it calls its customers its ohana. San Diego Beer News covered its opening in May 2025.
Blue Fire Brewing
Blue Fire calls itself an independent, family-owned brewery and tasting room. Its site lists rotating food vendors, happy hour, sports, trivia and bingo, and says the taproom is family- and dog-friendly. Note the Tuesday closure.
Dos Desperados Brewery
Dos Desperados is a family-owned brewery on Linda Vista Drive. Its website lists the hours above and asks visitors to call 760-566-6209 for updates. The site was returning errors on Nov. 1, so we also checked the Google business listing, which shows the same hours.
Craft Coast Beer & Tacos
Craft Coast’s San Marcos location pairs beer with a taco menu. It occupies the same Grand Avenue address that Rip Current Brewing’s San Marcos taproom used before it closed. The hours are from Craft Coast’s site, and the suite number is from its San Marcos Chamber listing.

Escondido and San Marcos breweries we left out
These came up in our search but didn’t make the guide:
- Rip Current Brewing (San Marcos): closed. Its own site says the San Marcos location is now closed.
- Ten-75 Brewing (San Marcos): unverified. A business listing shows it as temporarily closed, and its website returned errors on Nov. 1.
- Creative Creature Brewing (San Marcos): closed in 2026, per our San Diego brewery list.
- Plan 9 Alehouse (Escondido): closed in June 2023, SanDiegoVille reported.
- Escondido Brewing Co.: closed in May 2020, per West Coaster. Burgeon’s Oasis now uses its old address.
- Little Miss Brewing (Escondido): closed in March 2025. The Escondido Social Taproom now occupies the room.
- Stone’s Escondido brewery: Sapporo is moving production to Paso Robles and Kansas City, and the brewing side of the Citracado Parkway site is unresolved, so only the restaurant is listed.
