Dallas has a GWAR beer for the band’s tour stop. Vector Brewing released Carnage Committee, a West Coast-style IPA, on Nov. 3, according to JollyPint’s report on Vector’s newsletter. It’s timed to GWAR’s Nov. 10 show at AM/FM. Vector brewed it with three Dallas-area breweries: Intrinsic Brewing, Odd Muse Brewing Company and White Rock Brewing Co.

A joke that turned into a beer

Vector told newsletter readers the idea started as a gag. “We thought it would be funny to make a GWAR beer for the show,” the brewery wrote, as quoted by JollyPint. AM/FM is a venue where Vector is regularly on tap. The newsletter opened with: “Y’all, manifest weird things, and then weird things will happen.”

Vector also says the band got involved. GWAR “loved the idea so much, they’re calling upon fan breweries in other cities to make GWAR beers for this tour,” the brewery wrote. GWAR hasn’t announced the beer on its own channels.

Style and strength

Vector’s release art calls Carnage Committee a “Brutal West Coast-Style IPA.” According to JollyPint, Vector didn’t list an ABV in its announcement.

Where it’s pouring

Per JollyPint’s report, Carnage Committee is on tap at Vector’s taproom at 9850 Walnut Hill Lane in Dallas. The brewery says it can also be found “at the pub and hand-picked places around the Metroplex.”

The tour

The show is part of GWAR’s “Gor Gor Must Die!” tour. GWAR’s tour announcement lists Dallas at AM/FM on Nov. 10, with Midnight as direct support and Mac Sabbath opening every night. The closest stop for Southern California fans is House of Blues Anaheim on Nov. 18. There’s no San Diego date.
