AleSmith’s Speedway Grand Prix doesn’t start until Thursday, Nov. 12, but four of its Speedway Stout variants are already out. The Miramar brewery’s new Speedway Stout: Grand Prix on the Road mixed 4-pack gathers four 12% imperial stouts built around ice cream flavors. San Diego Beer News reported on Nov. 5 that the pack is available at AleSmith’s Miramar taproom now.

The four Speedway Stout variants in the pack
AleSmith lists each beer as an imperial stout, with these additions:
- Cookies & Cream Edition: chocolate sandwich cookies, cacao nibs, marshmallows and coffee
- Vietnamese Coffee Crunch Edition: Vietnamese coffee, toffee and vanilla
- Neapolitan Edition: chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and coffee
- Turtle Sundae Edition: caramel, roasted pecans, vanilla, cacao nibs and coffee
The brewery’s specs for the pack are 12% ABV and 70 IBU, packaged as a mixed 4-pack of 16-ounce cans, with 5-gallon and 15.5-gallon kegs also listed. AleSmith calls it a November 2026 seasonal and says it “improves with age.” None of the four are described as barrel-aged, so treat them as adjunct Speedway Stouts, not part of the barrel program.
AleSmith says it is “taking our signature Speedway Grand Prix on the road this year” with this lineup, “popping up in cities nationwide.” The brewery hasn’t published a list of cities or a price for the pack, so check with AleSmith or your local shop before you go hunting.
Speedway Grand Prix 2026: dates and what to expect
The Grand Prix itself is a San Diego Beer Week event at AleSmith, 9990 AleSmith Court in Miramar. AleSmith’s official Eventbrite listing gives these hours (all PST):
- Thursday, Nov. 12: 5–10 p.m.
- Friday, Nov. 13: 5–10 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 14: noon–5 p.m.
AleSmith lists “over a dozen” Speedway Stout variations across three themed “Pit Stops,” including ice cream-inspired versions and barrel-aged releases. Tasters come in “Laps” of 4-ounce pours with a collectible glass, sold in advance or at the door. Kids and leashed dogs are welcome, but you must be 21+ with valid ID to buy or drink alcohol, per the listing.
Thursday has one extra draw. From 5 to 8 p.m. PST, the Speedway Cellar at Anvil & Stave pours eight vintage Barrel-Aged Speedway Stout variations from 2020 through 2025, sold separately from the Laps while they last, per AleSmith’s listing.
Plan your Speedway stop
The 4-pack is the easy option if you can’t make the Grand Prix. If you can, Thursday adds the vintage cellar, while Saturday is the only daytime session. For the rest of the neighborhood, see our Miramar breweries guide and the San Diego Beer Week 2026 guide. For AleSmith’s other recent Speedway cans, read Mexican Chocolate and Jamaica Blue Mountain.
All four beers in the mixed pack are 12% ABV, per AleSmith. Bring a designated driver or book a ride.
