Another North County brewpub has drained its last keg, and this time the whole property is for sale: Prohibition Brewing Vista, the family brewpub at 2004 East Vista Way, has closed after nearly 15 years, and the business and its real estate are listed together for $2.75 million. Prohibition Brewing Company announced the sale in early September. By mid-October it was winding down after its final kegs ran dry, How To Beer reported.
The brewery’s announcement was blunt: “PROHIBITION ENDS AT LAST.” It added, “After nearly 15 years, we have decided to sell.” There was no announced final day beyond an end-of-September target. Brewing stopped, food orders stopped, and the beer ran out.
What’s for sale at Prohibition Brewing Vista
The listing bundles the brewery, restaurant, name, equipment and land. The property covers about 6,687 square feet across three buildings on just over an acre, according to Smith Allen Group, which adds roughly 5,000 square feet of dining room, a full kitchen, a patio and 87 parking spaces. The family has owned the ground since 2010, and food and beer recipes are available to a buyer who wants to keep the brewpub going.
Ron, Kathy and Kyle Adams founded the brewpub in 2011. Kyle, the general manager, is selling because his parents are retiring, and he has said he’s ready for a change, too. Hoodline called the closure permanent. No successor has been announced.
Prohibition Brewing Vista and the North County squeeze
The timing stings. Vista’s The Roadies Brewing closed for a second time on Oct. 18, as we reported in our story on The Roadies. Mission Brewing shut its East Village tasting room in August. Statewide, California’s craft brewery count fell from 987 in 2023 to 939 in 2025, according to CalMatters figures cited by How To Beer. Our roundup of California brewery closings covers the wider contraction.
A brewpub with the bones intact
Prohibition wasn’t a national brand. It was a regulars’ room on a stretch of road you had to know about. A buyer would get a working brewhouse, a kitchen, parking and a local following in a county that still drinks plenty of beer. We’ll report back if someone picks up the keys.
Transmission complete.
