Waconia Brewing Company in Waconia, Minnesota, is set to reopen on Nov. 5, 2026, under new owners, KARE 11 reports. The brewery closed on Jan. 31 after 11 years in business, saying at the time it hoped someone would buy it.
Who bought Waconia Brewing Company
In August, the new owners posted a video introducing themselves, according to KARE 11. They said they had been regulars at the brewery for years. KARE 11 did not name them, and the Bureau has not confirmed their names, so we will leave that blank for now.
What to expect when Waconia Brewing Company reopens
In that video, the owners said they plan to bring back favorite beers and make new ones. Which old favorites return, the opening hours and the first tap list have not been announced in the KARE 11 report.
Why the Waconia Brewing Company reopening stands out
Taprooms that close usually stay closed. This one sat dark for about nine months, from the end of January to early November, before a buyer stepped in. That buyer turned out to be a group of people who already knew the regulars’ orders, because they were among them.
That matters for a small-town taproom. Regulars know which beers people asked for, which nights were busy and what the room felt like. The new owners have not said how much they plan to change, beyond mixing old favorites with new beers, but they start with more local knowledge than most buyers would.
What the Bureau still does not know: the owners’ names, the opening-day hours, who is brewing, and whether the original recipes came with the sale. We will update this post as those details come out, and watch for the tap list as Nov. 5 gets closer.
If you live near Waconia, mark the date. The Bureau suggests ordering whatever you missed most since January when the doors open again.
Transmission complete. Welcome back, Waconia.
