Monday Night Brewing For My Friend Honors Winston Wood, a Beloved Bulldog

Monday Night Brewing For My Friend Honors Winston Wood, a Beloved Bulldog
/// Good-boy signal intercepted from Atlanta: a bottle has been dedicated to a bulldog; and WE are filing this one under transmissions that deserve respect.///

Monday Night Brewing For My Friend is a blended barrel-aged strong ale made in memory of Winston Wood, a bulldog. Atlanta’s Monday Night Brewing has listed it at 13.5% ABV in 500 ml bottles, according to a label preview published by MyBeerBuzz on Oct. 23, 2026.

What we know about Monday Night Brewing For My Friend

  • Brewery: Monday Night Brewing, Atlanta, Georgia
  • Style: blended barrel-aged strong ale
  • ABV: 13.5%
  • Package: 500 ml bottle; the label reads 2026
  • Made for: Winston Wood, beloved bulldog of Clint and Alicia Wood

That is the whole confirmed spec sheet. Everything here comes from the label art as MyBeerBuzz reported it. The Bureau could not find a separate announcement from the brewery.

The story behind Monday Night Brewing For My Friend

The front label is a quiet one: a gray portrait of Winston sits under the words “For My Friend” in gold lettering on a cream background, with “In Memory of Winston Wood” at the bottom. The Monday Night Garage mark appears on the label.

The back label carries a letter. It says that whenever one of the team’s own loses a beloved fur-friend, Monday Night makes this beer, and that this year’s Monday Night Brewing For My Friend honors Winston. The letter calls him “the sweetest boy and a total meatball,” says he will be deeply missed, and asks readers to raise a glass to him and give their own good boy or girl an extra hug. It is signed by Peter B. Kiley, brewmaster, on behalf of the Monday Night team.

Monday Night is a long-running Atlanta brewery. In 2022 we covered its 11th anniversary bash at Monday Night Garage in the West End, where Brewmaster Peter Kiley was quoted.

What we don’t know yet

The label does not say which barrels went into the blend, so we can’t say whether Monday Night Brewing For My Friend leans bourbon, wine, rum or something else. MyBeerBuzz notes the same gap. Also unknown:

  • the release date,
  • the price,
  • where the bottles will be sold, and in what quantities,
  • whether it will be draft-only at the taproom or sold in bottle shops.

Because of that, the Bureau has no tasting notes. At 13.5%, a strong ale like this is more likely a sipper than a session beer, but that is a statement about the style and the number, not about the liquid.

One more fact from the same Atlanta brewery: the official Great American Beer Festival 2026 winners list shows Monday Night’s Madrigal taking gold in the Wood- and Barrel-Aged Sour Beer category. That is a different beer, and nothing on this label says how Monday Night Brewing For My Friend was judged or whether it was entered anywhere.

When Monday Night shares a release plan for Monday Night Brewing For My Friend, we will update this post. Until then, the Bureau recommends the instruction on the label: hug the nearest good dog.
