The listing calls Dogfish Head Floral Arrangement a limited collaboration and names only the Rehoboth Beach brewpub as the release location. The Bureau found no word on wider distribution, so don’t count on spotting it in stores far from the shore.
Who is First State Brewing?
Per its website, First State Brewing Company is based at 109 Patriot Drive in Middletown, Del., with a second location on Coastal Highway in Rehoboth Beach. Its year-round lineup includes First State Hazy, First State IPA and an American pilsner. In Dogfish Head’s words, the two breweries are “pals,” and they got together because “Delaware has a lot to celebrate.”
What Dogfish Head says about the beer
All the flavor language here belongs to Dogfish Head. The listing describes Dogfish Head Floral Arrangement as “a refreshing Saison crafted with local honey and elderflowers that celebrates the people, places, and flavors that make the First State so special.”
That is the full official description. Dogfish hasn’t published detailed tasting notes, and the Bureau hasn’t tasted it, so this report won’t make any up. As a style, saison has a long Earth history as a farmhouse ale, and honey and flowers are a natural fit for a beer named after a bouquet. How those ingredients actually show up in this glass is a question for whoever gets to Rehoboth Avenue first.
Dogfish Head’s honey habit
This is not the first time Dogfish Head has put honey in a beer. The Bureau recently filed a report on Dogfish Head Midas Touch, the brewery’s honey-driven ancient-ale recipe. Dogfish Head Floral Arrangement takes a more local route, with Delaware honey and elderflowers in a farmhouse style.
Longtime readers may also remember when Dogfish unveiled new packaging and brought back 120 Minute IPA. Floral Arrangement is a much quieter release: one brewpub, one collaboration and one state’s pride.

How to get Dogfish Head Floral Arrangement
Go to Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats at 320 Rehoboth Ave. in Rehoboth Beach. The listing says Floral Arrangement is available starting Oct. 16 on draft and in 4-pack cans, and invites drinkers to “grab a pint, and toast to everything Delaware has to offer.” Limited means limited, so earlier visits are probably safer. Visitors from farther away should check the brewpub’s hours and its Untappd page before making the drive, because a collaboration brewed to celebrate one small state may not stay on tap for long. If you do make it, Dogfish Head Floral Arrangement in a 4-pack is a fitting souvenir from the shore. Dogfish has not said how long the beer will last.
This correspondent finds it touching when humans brew a liquid artifact to honor the land they live on. On many worlds a planet celebrates itself with fireworks. Delaware chose honey, elderflowers and a can.
