California Wine Festival, Southern California’s quintessential wine festival event producer, is thrilled to return to the Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad on Friday, May 29 and Saturday, May 30 with nearly 200 wines from over 60 wineries, 30 of San Diego County’s fine dining restaurants, gourmet food purveyors, live entertainment, and lifestyle exhibitors in a stunning outdoor setting.

Guests are invited to an elegant Sunset Rare & Reserve Tasting on Friday, May 29 to taste fine wines and appetizers overlooking the ocean at the breathtaking Park Hyatt Aviara Resort Golf Club & Spa’s Palm Courtyard. The VIP event for wine aficionados kicks off with a champagne reception followed by an evening of sampling rare and reserve wines under the stars. On Saturday, May 30, the wine tasting experience continues with the Beachside Wine Festival at Park Hyatt Aviara Resort’s Heron Lawn overlooking lush, rolling hills with the shimmering Pacific Ocean beyond.

“We are so excited to partner with Park Hyatt Aviara for the second year to showcase an amazing selection of fine California wines,” said Emily Kaufmann, Executive Director of California Wine Festival. “The beautiful coastal backdrop creates an unforgettable experience for wine enthusiasts to pair the best food and wine California has to offer.”

The two-day wine festival curates fan favorite pours and reserve vintages from over 60 leading vineyards statewide. Alma Rosa Winery will be sampling delicious small-batch artisanal wines from its organic vineyard in Santa Rita Hills. Paso Robles’ Calcareous Vineyards will be pouring handmade red wines of distinctive character, profound depth and sense of place that will impress the most discerning palates. Carol Shelton, the iconic female winemaker’s eponymous vineyard, will be serving handcrafted old vine Zinfandels and award-winning wines. Napa Valley’s Clif Family Winery will be serving sustainably produced small production, food-friendly wines made with little intervention for a true expression of the grape’s character. Another Napa Valley favorite, Old Acre Wines, will be offering tastes of exceptional artisanal single-vineyard wines handcrafted with passion from exquisite grapes in Napa Valley. Unlimited tastes of nearly every type of wine will be available for guests to learn about the unique and delicious wines from all of California’s distinct wine regions.

California Wine Festival also shines a light on culinary education through rare one-on-one conversations with world-class professional chefs serving complimentary gourmet appetizers. Park Hyatt Aviara’s featured chefs, Executive Chef Pierre Albaladejo and Executive Pastry Chef Christophe Rull Park will feature a flight of flavors showcasing the resort’s exceptional culinary team. While pairing wine with samples of artisan cheeses, rustic bread, rich olive oil, decadent chocolates, fresh-cut fruits and more, guests can listen to live music and take in views of California’s beautiful coastal landscape. Friday’s Rare & Reserve Tasting features live entertainment from Kalina & Kiana, a sister singer songwriter duo known statewide for their beautiful melodies. Upstream, SoCal’s premier live reggae, calypso, soca and steel drum band will perform at Saturday’s Beachside Wine Festival.
