The STRAT Hotel, Casino and SkyPod will introduce something fresh on tap with the openings of BLVD & MAIN Taphouse and View Lounge on the main casino floor next to the new, state-of-the-art William Hill Sports Book. Both spots will open in late March, just in time for NHL playoffs and college basketball finals.
“BLVD & MAIN will be the top spot in town to grab beers and a bite while catching the game, whether you live in Vegas or you’re on vacation,” said Steve Arcana, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Golden Entertainment, LLC, the parent company of The STRAT. “The craft beer offerings, including our own beers, are fantastic. Chef Johannes Bernau has meticulously crafted the menu to take pub cuisine to a new, upscale, cutting-edge standard.”
The design of BLVD & MAIN and View will honor the Downtown Las Vegas Arts District with pieces commissioned by local artists. The art has been curated by Kevin Barry Fine Art and includes original pieces by local artists Manny Avila, Liz Lagumina, Biscuit Street Preacher and Devin Valdivia.
The 6,000+-square-foot BLVD & MAIN will combine craft beer and elevated pub cuisine with a lively scene, complete with comfortable seating to settle in and catch any game or sporting event. Next door, the 3,000+-square-foot View Lounge will offer craft cocktails and small bites, introducing a stylish new hotel bar offering at The STRAT. BLVD & MAIN and View Lounge will offer flat screen televisions and convenient access to the William Hill Sports Book for betting.
BLVD & MAIN Executive Chef Johannes Bernau has developed a menu of progressive grill fare, including poutine, fries topped with Wisconsin cheese, chicken gravy and chives; buffalo fried oysters topped with bleu cheese crumbles; Brussels sprouts Caesar salad, tossed with apples, pine nuts, torn croutons and fresh herbs; a BBQ short rib sandwich with dill pickles and chipotle BBQ sauce; stone-fired flatbreads, including the ‘carnivore,’ topped with pepperoni, ground beef, corned bison, bacon, mozzarella and TBG sauce; and brick pressed organic chicken, beer brined and served with crushed fried potatoes, brocollini and natural jus. The dessert menu includes apple pie flautas, s’more cake, toffee cake and fondue for sharing.
BLVD & MAIN brewer, Dave Otto, has developed a signature beer to roll out for BLVD & MAIN’s opening: Jaywalker, a mild golden ale (5.2% alcohol by volume) with a touch of malt sweetness, low bitterness and a hint of “old world” hop aroma. Two of Otto’s other beers: Sean Patrick’s Irish Red and Hualapai IPA of Golden Entertainment’s PT’s taverns, will be among the two dozen beers on tap. Other local and regional craft beers include: CraftHaus Evocation Saison, Tenaya Creek Bonanza brown ale and Banger Brewing Morning Joe from Las Vegas; Pizza Port Swami’s IPA and Belching Beaver Mexican chocolate PB stout from San Diego; Odell’s 90 Schilling ale from Fort Collins, Colo.; and Golden Road (AB InBev owned) Mango Court from Los Angeles.
The cocktails at BLVD & MAIN and View Lounge were created by Golden Entertainment’s Corporate Director of Beverage Jason Shullo. Shullo, who has led the beverage programs for some of America’s hottest restaurants and bars, developed a cocktail menu for BLVD & MAIN inspired by the tap house experience. Signature cocktails include the Especial Spritz, made with Absolut grapefruit vodka, strawberry puree and Aperol topped with Modelo Especial; and What She Said, made with Crown Royal vanilla, raspberries, lime sour, Pernod and Goslings ginger beer.
The cocktails at View Lounge include the Innocent Mistake, made with Sauza Hornitos, fresh lime sour, La Pinta pomegranate tequila and cantaloupe juice; the Quick Whit, made with freshly cut pineapple, ripe cold pressed watermelon juice, Sauza Hornitos Plata, lemon sour, wheat beer and two slices of jalapeno. Complementing the cocktails is a menu of bites, including smoked salmon flatbread made with crème fraiche, tobiko, chive and chili-garlic oil and chilled Maine crab rolls made with crisp pear, celery and lemon served in homemade herb focaccia.
