Producer/Director David Sabbath of Three Dog Films has been commissioned to create a television pilot on the emergence of the Craft Beer Industry. The pilot, Generation Hops, is not only devoted to the popularity of craft beer, but will focus on the culture, community and life of the areas where the ultimate television series will film.
Sabbath selected North Dakota as the filming location for the pilot. “I’ve pointed a camera at something; interviewed someone and enjoyed a craft beer in every state but North Dakota. It just seemed like the logical next step and really unique choice,” said Sabbath.
The North Dakota episode breweries featured are Stonehome; Laughing Son; Prairie Brothers and Junkyard (very close to N Dakota border).
Sabbath, who will also host and write the pilot, has lined up events and interviews such as the Bismarck Donut and Beer Festival, Fargo Author Danielle Teigan, Enchanted Highway artist Gary Greff, Carol Peterson of the Midland Continental Depot Transportation Museum Featuring Peggy Lee, Dave Archambault II, of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe; DJ Frank Gallo of 96.5 The Fox; comedy at the Front Street Taproom and Rap Artist Kipp G. Additionally, his camera will be pointed inside several breweries and taprooms across the state.
“People are always happy to discuss their loves and lives over a cold beer,” added Sabbath.
The pilot will initially premiere on YouTube, then the series be offed to YouTube; CNN; Netflix; Amazon; Discovery, The Travel Channel; HBO; and several other cable networks.
Alex Esber, who teamed up with Sabbath to produce the multiple award winning feature film God Don’t Make the Laws, will help produced the pilot.
The pilot will be filmed in late August and premiere in early fall. Look for Facebook updates and please follow at https://www.facebook.com/generationhops
