Lagunitas NightTime Ale
8.2% ABV – 74 IBU’s
The appearance has a nice jet black color with a nice thick tan head on the pour before it dissipated. Once it did, there were some sticky lacings despite being poured in a pint glass. The smell had a really nice bitter citrus up front with a fairly decent bitter coffee taste with a hint of sweetness towards the end as well. The taste was mainly sweet but carried a tad of bitterness to impart a slight invasive and inviting real coffee flavored black IPA. Medium Bodied and slightly carbonated as well. As the IPA came to room temperature the citrus smell was much more pronounced and the slight citrus smell became much more prevalent and grew to include orange, mango, and pineapple fruit flavors balanced with dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and caramel. Overall, very good black IPA, I will be definitely be keeping an eye for this beer again!
