Ballast Point & 91X Band Together To Release 91XPA

Two long-standing local institutions, Ballast Point and 91X, have banded together to celebrate their independent roots in San Diego by collaborating on a special limited release just in time for the warmer months. After a few brainstorming sessions between the R&D brewers at Ballast Point Little Italy and the team at 91X, the idea was formed to brew an Extra Pale Ale with a name too obvious to ignore: 91XPA. As a part of the celebration, Ballast Point will also make a donation to San Diego Coastkeeper, a non-profit organization whose mission for over 25 years has been to protect and restore fishable, swimmable, and drinkable waters in San Diego County.  The limited release 91XPA will be available on draft beginning today at all San Diego Ballast Point locations: Miramar, Little Italy, and Home Brew Mart, while supplies last.

91XPA – Extra Pale Ale, ABV: 5.4%, 23 IBUs

    • A hop grist of Amarillo, Cashmere, and Northern Brewer was chosen by the 91X crew by way of an extensive hop sensory process at Ballast Point Little Italy, with a little Mosaic sprinkled in the dry hop for an added punch.  Malty but drinkable and with a balanced hop character, 91XPA is an approachable beer-flavored beer, perfect for hanging out with some good friends and listening to some kick-ass music.
