Nautilus GmbH Laboratoriumsbedarf & Co. KG has announced the launch of NicoShot, the world’s first smoking-cessation beer. NicoShot is designed to help smokers quit smoking by providing a controlled release of natural nicotine, without the smoke, in a delicious and refreshing brew.
NicoShot contains a shot of natural nicotine, the equivalent of a couple of filtered cigarettes, along with 63 calories and 4.5 carbohydrates. This groundbreaking beer is brewed to the German Purity Law of 1516, with a standardized herbal extract of natural tobacco leaf added at the end of the brewing process.
“NicoShot is a nicotine-enhanced beer designed to control cigarette cravings, yet taste like a fine imported European beer,” says Richard H. NicoShot is a cigarette substitute without the smoke, and for most smokers, three cans of NicoShot is comparable to one pack of conventional cigarettes. It provides a steady, controlled release of nicotine, like nicotine gum, and can help relieve withdrawal symptoms and cigarette cravings when quitting or avoiding relapse. Over time, NicoShot’s use can be reduced and eventually stopped as the individual becomes more comfortable being a non-smoker.
