Mike Hess Brewing Joins National Effort to Fund Childhood Cancer Research

Mike Hess Brewing of San Diego (www.mikehessbrewing.com) is proud to announce a partnership with Brewing Funds the Cure for a fourth consecutive year. MHB will release Rising Hope Hazy IPA™ on September 1st, 2022 in all six of their brewery-owned tap room locations both on draft and in 6-pack cans. This year’s version of the recipe features the one-two punch of white-peach fruit and Idaho 7 hops and clocks in at 6.5% ABV. Best of all, 100% of the net proceeds from Rising Hope will be donated to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation (NPCF).

NPCF’s Brewing Funds the Cure initiative allows the passion and creativity of the brewing industry nationwide to help fund critical research. The signature program for Brewing Funds the Cure is the annual release of Rising Hope. Now in its fourth year, the goal of the program is to have one brewery in each state produce the signature beer. In the first three years of the release of Rising Hope, craft brewing partners across the country have raised over $500,000 for pediatric cancer research!

Mike Hess Rising Hope

Mike Hess Brewing, representing the state of California, brewed up 30 barrels of Rising Hope using ingredients donated by program partners Country Malt Group, Yakima Chief Hops, and Amoretti. The signature IPA will be available through September and October, and Hess is donating 100% of the net proceeds to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation for their research efforts towards finding better protocols, treatments, and therapies for all pediatric cancer types. Their participation in this national effort allows MHB to not only bring another great beer to their fans, but is also aligned with their purpose of bringing people together over great beer around great causes.

“Partnering with NPCF and raising research monies for them through Rising Hope is one of our greatest honors as a brewery stated Mike Hess, co-founder, and CBO. We have always been a purpose-driven brewery, but our mission was crystallized when our daughter was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2018 at age 12. Knowing firsthand the devastating effect a kid’s cancer diagnosis has on that child and their family and that every day 43 kids hear that terrible news, we have focused our team’s efforts on making a real impact on this devastating disease. The national effort of raising money from Rising Hope to NPCF makes a significant and meaningful impact which hopefully, soon, will lead to better outcomes for all these kiddos.”

To participate and help in their efforts, MHB invites all fans, old and new, to one of their six California locations to enjoy a cold pint or two and pick up a 6-pack or case to go. In addition, they invite everyone to engage NPCF directly by texting the word BREW to 50155. From there, those looking to help out the cause can make donations to directly join the fight against pediatric cancer.
