Mike Hess Brewing of San Diego (www.mikehessbrewing.com) will be celebrating their 12-year anniversary of bringing people together over great beer around great causes by hosting HessFest XII and taking over Pier Plaza in Imperial Beach on August 13th from 11am-5pm.
Happening just south of their IB Biergarten known as Mike’s Yard, this year’s annual event is highly anticipated after a great inaugural celebration in IB last year filled with live music, interactive booths, delicious food, and of course great beer. HessFest displays MHB’s commitment to their mission by gathering its community around craft beer and raising funds for very special charities.
Net proceeds from ticket sales to HessFest XII will be donated to sole beneficiary OAK (Oncology and Kids), while the Navy SEAL Foundation will be the recipient from the round-up function on Hess’ point of sale for the entire month). Mike Hess Brewing has a long history of philanthropic efforts and community work and HessFest is just one way that the San Diego staple has contributed to the communities they call home. Since their launch in 2010, MHB has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for various non-profit organizations at dozens of events including St. Baldrick’s head-shaving, special brew Rising Hope IPA with the Nat’l Pediatric Cancer Foundation, dog training with Next Step Service Dogs, beer and toy donations for The Jessie Rees Foundation, and many others.
“Each year it’s our goal to put on an amazing event, because, as our single biggest day of money-raising, HessFest is the hinge on which our door of philanthropy swings,” said Mike Hess, co-founder. “It’s a time for our team to showcase how much we really care—not only about our beer, but for our fans, our neighborhoods, and especially for the causes we support. Each year we step it up from the year prior and this year’s venue
and music lineup is gonna be a blast!”
HessFest XII is a family-friendly and pet-friendly music festival featuring live performances from local musicians including headliners The Sully Band, OB local’s Sensi Trails, and The Payne Killers, dozens of MHB beers and non-alcoholic beverages, food from Quiero Tacos, Doggos Gus and others, t-shirts on-demand, as well as a free cornhole tournament managed by IBAC.
