Oskar Blues Brewery is stoked to announce that Burning CAN Beer Fest 2019 will be headlined by Nashville-based rock-and-pop soundmakers, Moon Taxi. The award-winning summer festival will take place at Bohn Park in Lyons; and include stellar live music, a beer festival featuring over 70 breweries from across the U.S. and around the world, camping; and rad outdoor challenges and activities in conjunction with Lyons Outdoor Games and the Town of Lyons.
“Burning CAN is everything we love about the summertime rolled into one epic event,” said Oskar Blues Digital Marketing Manager, Devon Weatherwax. “Having adventures with your friends surrounded by beautiful scenery – that’s the kind of day that craft beer in a can is made for.”
The day warms up with the option for yoga or participation in the trail run – where teams of two or four runners take turns completing a beautiful 5k loop at the foot of the Rockies. Runners can choose the beer relay and refresh themselves with a cold can of craft beer per each lap completed.
Other activities include a bike obstacle race and the Dirt Jump Competition sponsored by Traction Coffee. Plus, beloved festival attraction “Dock Dogs,” is back this year – where dogs show off their big air and speed retrieval skills. Also returning is an all-ages playground, perfect for family fun.
The afternoon heats up with Burning CAN Beer Fest, where craft beer lovers can sample over 200 different beers from top breweries – some local, and some rarely found in Colorado. Each brewery pours from Oskar Blues’ favorite portable, recyclable, crushable receptacle – the can. Burning CAN toasts the canned craft beer movement that Oskar Blues kicked off when they first stuffed Dale’s Pale Ale into a can in 2002.
Festival-goers will gather around the Burning CAN stage as the sun starts to dip behind the mountains. Local three-guy blues-funk outfit The Red Petals will kick off the tunes; followed by energetic, shimmering indie rock by Denver’s Wildermiss. Moon Taxi will headline with an infectious live performance sure to inspire groovy dance moves.
The night culminates with the Burning of the CAN – a huge custom-made steel can of bonfire, then on-site camping makes it easy to call it a day. Burning CAN tickets are now available. Click here for the full schedule and ticket information.
