The Patio on 101, the new California coastal chic eatery that recently opened in Encinitas, is more than a restaurant but a place for the community to come together. That’s why the restaurant dedicated a whole bar and special brew to one of its closest friends and community member, Joey Himmelberg.
The Patio on 101’s “Himmelberg’s” bar holds a special significance to The Patio Group and the community. Named after Joey, the late friend of The Patio Group’s CEO, Gina Champion-Cain, restaurant goers can sip the one-of-a-kind smooth citrus “Himmelbrew” exclusively poured at this bar only, brewed by local Mission Brewery. Every beer poured is in remembrance of their amazing friend Joey who loved to surf at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas making this location the perfect place to celebrate him.
Because of Joey’s sudden passing, American National Investments, the privately-owned real estate, hospitality and lifestyle company that owns The Patio on 101, will also sponsor the American Heart Association’s San Diego Heart & Stroke Walk on Sept. 15 in Balboa Park as the cause is near to their hearts.
