After years of intensive development, the Wineally system is launched in different versions for restaurants, wine merchants and wine producers as well as an app for consumers. The system enables all parts of the wine trade to increase their revenues and cut cost and consumers to get better wine and dine moments by offering several unique functions.

“It all started when I as a wine merchant realised that most consumers are not able to match wine with their dishes in a good way and that most restaurants don´t have a dedicated and educated sommelier.” says Ole

Our first question was How can we help restaurants and consumers to get better matched wine and dine experiences?  Digging into this question and asking consumers, wine merchants and restaurants we concluded that consumers are willing to spend more if they know that the wine they are buying is a good match to their dishes. The solution was to develop the most complex wine matching algorithm to date and build a comprehensive database with wine information. Today Wineally´s database contains more than 700.000 wines, focusing on broadly available commercial wines that are actually consumed in the on-trade channel globally. Based on the wine database and input from the restaurant Wineally creates unique Wine-DNA and Dish-DNA that is used for the advanced wine and food pairing.

With the app for restaurants, service staff can give world class wine matching on the floor even after just a few minutes introduction and training with the app. Wineally also helps the restaurant increase revenues by making bottle-to-go and take-away sales of wine easier.

“We know the last couple of years has been hard for the whole hospitality sector and that finding staff with experience and training is really difficult at this time. Wineally can help in the way that the restaurant, hotel or café can offer a professional wine service even with inexperienced and untrained staff or the guest can do it themselves in the app.” says Ole

That way we can help the industry keeping the revenues up and lower the cost of providing great service. We also know that happy guests are more likely to come back so improving service is always a great investment. Wineally takes care of the tasks the normally takes years of training to achieve, like multi course pairing and capturing the preferences from the guests without making the usage difficult. Even the consumers themselves can use the app if that is preferred by the restaurant.
