Tröegs’ Master of Pumpkins returns to usher in the fall season

Tröegs’ Master of Pumpkins returns to usher in the fall season

Tröegs Independent Brewing welcomes back the fall season with the return of its perennial pumpkin ale favorite, Master of Pumpkins.

Each year, the Pennsylvania-based brewery begins by sourcing 3,000 pounds of locally grown longneck pumpkins needed to brew the beer.

“To us, a pumpkin beer should have pumpkins, and fortunately they grow really well in Pennsylvania,” says brewmaster and co-founding brother John Trogner. “We think our fans appreciate this beer’s connection to local agriculture.”

After the harvest, brewery staff clean, cut, roast, and purée the pumpkins before adding them directly to the mash tun at the start of the brewing process.

“Bringing this beer to life really is a labor of love and a brewery-wide effort,” says Trogner.

Subtly spiced with cinnamon, clove, ginger, and nutmeg, Master of Pumpkins delivers the time-honored flavors of the season and provides warm comfort on those cool autumn nights ahead.

Starting Monday, September 23, Master of Pumpkins will be available on draft and in 16-oz. cans everywhere Tröegs beer is sold. Beer drinkers can find this and all the independent brewery’s beers near them using the Tröegs Brew Finder.
