Southern Tier Brewing Company Adds A 7,000 sq. ft. Open-Air Beer Garden

Southern Tier Brewing Company Adds A 7,000 sq. ft. Open-Air Beer Garden

Having opened their first satellite brewery and taproom in Pittsburgh’s North Shore neighborhood in 2016, the Lakewood, NY based brewery further expands its footprint in the Steel City. Nestled within easy walking distance between Heinz Field and PNC Park, Southern Tier Pittsburgh opened at 316 North Shore Drive in January 2017 and has added an additional 7,000 sq. ft. outdoor space.

Opening this past weekend, Southern Tier Pittsburgh’s outdoor space includes a covered 30-seat, 30-tap bar with an additional 60 seats surrounding the bar under its all-season rooftop. This bar area opens directly into a large, landscaped open-air beer garden that invites craft beer fans and new friends alike to enjoy the Southern Tier Pittsburgh experience in a whole new light – sunlight!

Since opening in January of this year, Southern Tier Pittsburgh has brewed a line of taproom-exclusive beers, aptly named “Pittsburgh Brew’d,” as well as serving classic STBC ales and lagers. An in-house kitchen cooks up a chef-driven menu of elevated pub fair to pair perfectly with the brewery’s creations. This outdoor addition consists of a full bar serving the same beers, spirits, cocktails, and chef-crafted food in a spacious outdoor environment.

“The plan to add an outdoor beer garden has long been in the works, and now’s the time. We’re excited to offer more space in our North Shore location for game day and everyday visitors,” said Southern Tier co-founder, Phin DeMink.

Southern Tier products are distributed by Frank B. Fuhrer Wholesale Co. in Pittsburgh and the surrounding area.
