Kiamie Restaurant Group (KRG), a family-owned and operated business is redefining the dining experience in the charming southern college town of Oxford, Mississippi. The story of KRG began in 1952 when Alex “AJ” Kiamie III’s grandparents opened Kiamies, a popular diner and bowling alley. Building on this legacy, the Kiamie family made their mark on the community, and in 1966, AJ’s grandfather seized an opportunity and established Kiamie Package Store, now the oldest continuously operating package store in Mississippi. AJ, together with his wife Claire, combined their expertise in the wine and liquor industry and event planning to create something extraordinary.
In September 2019, KRG proudly unveiled their inaugural establishment, The Sipp on South Lamar. Located in the heart of Oxford Square, The Sipp is a captivating wine and tapas bar that presents a unique culinary experience. Executive Chef Cameron Bryant crafts innovative dishes reflecting the flavors of each season, while Beverage Director AJ Kiamie curates an exceptional wine and spirits collection, featuring over 60 wines and 100 whiskeys. The Sipp also offers private dining options and hosts wine tasting events to enrich guests’ experiences.
In June 2021, KRG expanded its footprint with the opening of YŪGŌ Oxford. This contemporary and Eastern-inspired dining concept, led by Executive Chef Will Brady, pushes the boundaries of modern cooking by blending global flavors and techniques. With an impressive menu, an extensive beverage selection, and monthly cooking classes and tastings, YŪGŌ Oxford offers a rich and unique dining experience that delights guests.
Complementing their restaurant ventures, Kiamie Package Store remains a distinguished liquor store, providing over 1,500 wine selections and an extensive collection of spirits and cordials.
