Pariah Brewing expanding to Baltimore

Pariah Brewing expanding to … Baltimore? Yep, they are. San Diego operations will continue as they are.

Pariah Brewing shared the following announcement:

As many of you know, we began our existence within the Brewery Igniter program in San Diego, CA. This program is a platform for start-up breweries to get established, grow and ultimately build their own larger facility. As of November 2020, we reached our maximum capacity within this model (simply put, we can’t make more beer if we tried!) and now it’s time to upgrade. We are incredibly proud of our amazing co-workers at Pariah who have been integral in creating a welcoming culture and space for you to enjoy our beer. We are also incredibly grateful for everyone who has chosen to enjoy our beers over the last 4.5 years and what a wild ride it has been! Achieving this growth would not be possible without either of these things and we thank you.

We have agreed to take over 1700 Union Avenue located in the community of Hampden within Baltimore, Maryland. This space was previously occupied by Union Craft Brewing before they themselves moved on to even larger digs. We are honored to be able to carry the torch forward by continuing to offer excellent beer to the beautiful community of Hampden and beyond within those walls. Hampden mirrors so much of what we love about North Park as a community of young professionals and families surrounded by small businesses of all types. Why Maryland? You may not know but our ownership is native to Maryland, so we see this expansion not only as a homecoming of sorts but also an expansion to meet demand as a bicoastal brewery. With deep family ties in both San Diego and Baltimore this is truly an amazing opportunity. We have had a small distribution footprint over the past 2 years within the state of Maryland and are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to grow that market and then further expand within the Tri-State area.

The Baltimore tasting room and brewery space comes in at 6,837 SF and includes an outdoor patio and parking lot. We have purchased a 20BBL brewhouse and 40BBL fermentation tanks which will, upon move-in, immediately double our brewing capacity. We plan to maintain our current annual growth trajectory with the ability to eventually top out at 10,000BBLs in this space. Our amazing graphic designer, Tyler Cristobal, is part of the innovative team at Hollis Brand Culture who will oversee the creative crafting of the interior design of the tasting areas to meet our continued vision of an elevated and unique customer experience. Our COO, Christa Mitchell,  relocated in May 2021 to Baltimore to oversee initial build out and design operations.

We greatly look forward to joining the many other small businesses in the Baltimore community. Baltimore is an intensely beautiful city filled with rich history and an identity built on pride of their diverse culture, character and charm. We invite you all to visit us in our secondary home and experience the love, kindness and neighborly welcome that this city provides. We could not be more stoked to be a part of the fabric of two such amazing communities in both San Diego and Baltimore.

What does this mean for California? We’re glad you asked! You can continue to enjoy our beer at our tasting room in North Park, San Diego just as before. We will continue to have our beers available within all currently active territories of California including; San Diego County, Orange County, Los Angeles County, and many areas within Central and Northern California including San Francisco county.

Stay tuned for official details on our 2021 Baltimore Grand Opening by signing up for our newsletter on our website or follow us on Instagram @pariahbrewingco.

We have some additional very exciting plans in the works so stay tuned and we will fill you in as soon as we’re able to.
