Silver Eagle Distributors Houston, LLC is teaming up with Kona Big Wave and Anheuser-Busch to support the Maui community in its efforts to recover from the devastating wildfires that are sweeping through the island. Established as a retail program in Houston, every case of Kona Big Wave sold in August and September will provide a $0.50 per case contribution to the Hawai’i Community Foundation through the Maui Strong Fund. Consumers can also donate directly to the Maui Strong Fund via a QR code at retail displays where Kona Big Wave is sold.
“We are proud to support the community in Maui as they begin to recover from the extensive damage to homes, businesses, and wildlife,” said Camilo Rojas III, Vice President of Marketing at Silver Eagle Houston. “We are also working with local partners to expand the reach of this program.”
One of those partners is former Houston Dynamo and U.S. National Team player Brian Ching. “As a Native Hawaiian, the call to support was immediate. Though I’m in Houston, backing the fundraising endeavors for the Maui fires involves more than just assisting in recovery; it entails uniting in support of a community. Through this partner collaboration with Silver Eagle we will be able to rally resources to offer aid to those dealing with their unimaginable losses. The spirit of aloha knows no boundaries and our island’s resilience is a reflection of our unity,” said Ching.
“The level of generosity we’ve seen in the past few days has been truly unprecedented,” said Micah Kāne, CEO and president of the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation. “Donations to the Maui Strong Fund is bringing immediate relief to affected people and communities on communities, through partners on the ground who are providing shelter, food, showers, animal care, grief support, and other services as needs arise. A heartfelt mahalo (thank you) to Silver Eagle Distributors Houston, Kona Big Wave, Anheuser-Busch, and other donors who are stepping up to support our Maui community at such a crucial time.”
