Indeed Brewing Company, based in Minneapolis, is redefining what beer can be. Their latest release, Apple Crisp Ale (6.7% ABV), is a delightful hybrid of beer and cider—not quite one or the other, but the best of both.
Crafted with Pilsner and Munich malts and blended with real apple juice, Apple Crisp Ale pushes boundaries by using a specialized cider yeast to ferment the beer, creating a beverage that drinks like a crisp, refreshing cider with the backbone of a beer.
“Apple Crisp Ale is a beer that tastes a lot like a cider. And it’s delicious,” says Ryan Bandy, Chief Business Officer at Indeed Brewing.
“I think craft beer is coolest when it pushes the boundaries far enough that you find your way back to something that’s approachable and accessible, and that’s what we’ve done with Apple Crisp.”
🍎 What’s in Apple Crisp Ale?
This unique ale is brewed with Fresco Cider Yeast from Renaissance Yeast, specially bred to avoid producing sulfides, a common off-flavor in many cider fermentations. This results in a cleaner, more enjoyable drinking experience.
To round out the profile, Sultana hops are added with a light hand, offering subtle pineapple notes that enhance the apple-forward flavors without overwhelming bitterness.
A gentle touch of cinnamon and nutmeg adds a warming fall spice character, making Apple Crisp Ale a perfect choice for late summer and early autumn sipping.
