Humboldt Distillery, the Northern California distiller known for its organic and hemp-infused vodkas, has partnered with California Coastkeeper Alliance (CCKA) to aid in the fight for swimmable, fishable and drinkable water for all Californians.
Humboldt Distillery, while always mindful of its environmental impacts, feels that as a company it is important to take a more active role to benefit the environment.
“Of course our products themselves are 60% water, and we wouldn’t be able to make them without a reliable source of pure, drinkable water,” says Abe Stevens, the founder of Humboldt Distillery. “The environment isn’t something we take for granted. In fact, it’s the reason we chose to become a certified organic distillery, because we believe organic production is better for the environment. We’re more than happy to support this cause.”
The Humboldt team believes that collaborating with a conservation group can help realize that goal. Through their new partnership with CCKA, Humboldt Distillery is able to support an organization that is not only grounded in science, but that also takes action to fight for California’s coast and waterways so local communities have access to healthy and clean waters. During Humboldt’s “Toast to the Coast” campaign, a portion of the proceeds from each Humboldt Distillery Organic Vodka bottle sold will be donated to CCKA with the hopes that the support will increase awareness of and engagement in efforts that make for a more drinkable, fishable and swimmable California.
“California’s economy is powered by clean water and a healthy coastline,” says Sean Bothwell, executive director of CCKA. “We are honored to partner with a business like Humboldt Distillery that understands the value of clean, healthy waterways for sustaining California’s communities, blue economy and way of life.”
“We’re proud to support CCKA’s fight for swimmable, fishable and drinkable waters for all Californians. Those are all objectives that mean a lot to us. Here in Humboldt, as in many other parts of California, we have scenic coastlines, beaches and even secret swimming holes at the river, making swimmable water a vital part of our culture. You can probably tell from the Dungeness crab featured on the Organic Vodka label that we enjoy fishing and crabbing as well,” Stevens continues.
Humboldt Distillery produces a range of craft spirits, including its two trademark vodkas. Recipient of the 2019 Bartender Spirits Awards Spirit of the Year and Vodka of the Year honors, Humboldt Vodka received a total of 96 points and was the competition’s sole recipient of a Double Gold medal. In addition, Humboldt’s Finest hemp-infused vodka, with a unique botanical character reminiscent of gin, garnered a Double Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The brand can be found at many independent retailers and chains throughout California, including Albertsons, Vons, Pavilions, Ralphs, Target, CVS Pharmacy, Mollie Stone’s, Whole Foods, BevMo, Bristol Farms, Lazy Acres and Total Wine & More, as well as with online retailers such as Drizly, Hi-Time Wine Cellars, Total Wine & More, Saucey, Holiday Wine Cellar, Blackwell’s Wines & Spirits, Wooden Cork and Cask Cartel.
