East Brother Beer Launches Limited Series Beers

East Brother Beer Company announces the launch of three new limited release beer series designed to allow the company’s brewers to not only showcase their talents and tastes, but to offer customers an increasing range of classic beer styles from around the world.

“Our mission has always been to create simple, tried and true classic styles that are welcoming and accessible,” said Rob Lightner, Co-Founder of East Brother Beer. “The five East Brother signature beers have all been well received, but our customers are always interested and excited to try something new – and there are so many styles out there! Our new programs allow us to satisfy this interest while staying true our brand.”

The boldest new program is East Brother’s new Seasonal Lager Series, the first beer of which is a classic German Maibock, released on April 27. This new beer, described as rich, peppery and fresh, will be available in the taproom, as well as in limited distribution with select retail partners. The brewery plans three additional lager releases for 2018: Pre-Prohibition Lager for summer; Festbier for fall; and a dark style lager (to be determined) for winter.

Next up is the taproom exclusive 100-Pint Series, releasing approximately every other Thursday. This program launched with a Double IPA in March and a California Common in early April. The beers in the 100-Pint Series are brewed on the original pilot system that founders Chris and Rob used to create their five signature beers, which yields approximately 100 pints per batch. Head Brewer Paul Liszewski, and assistant brewers Lauren Novotny and Austin Breunig collaborate on this program, with a new beer being released in the taproom every other Thursday. Future planned releases include American Wheat, American Brown, and Pale Ale. Taproom customers dropping by on a Thursday for a taste of a new 100 Pint Series beer can often witness the brewing of the next one that same night.

The third limited release series, also a taproom exclusive, is the new Cask Conditioning Program, which brings the traditional English method of conditioning beer in firkins (a small cask) to the East Brother taproom. Cask ales are gaining in popularity in the US, so adding this classic approach to the brewery’s repertoire was a natural fit. Released on select Fridays, East Brother has already released a cask-conditioned English Pale in March, and an Oatmeal Stout in April. Other than being released on Fridays, there is no set schedule for the cask conditioned beers, so interested beer aficionados should check East Brother’s social media accounts regularly for release information or sign up for the company newsletter.

The key to getting a taste of these beers is to act quickly, as the taproom-exclusive beers typically sell out well before the weekend is over. And although the Seasonal Lager Series beers are being brewed in larger quantities, they’ll only be available until they’re gone!
