Breweries across Colorado are embracing one of the beer industry’s favorite holidays – Stout Month!
Here are a few of our favorites.
FlyteCo Brewing – Ski Plane Stout
The aptly named beer for the aviation-themed brewery that just announced its second location at the former Stapleton Air Control Tower will have its Ski Plane Stout on draft throughout February. The American Stout (5.6% ABV) carries rich notes of roasted grain that reminds us of freshly roasted coffee as well as a subtle nuttiness. Flavors of coffee and chocolate are present, while still carrying a balanced sweetness. Not dry, but not overly sweet, this beer really highlights the dark and chocolate malt used in this beer. The hops in this beer help create a dry finish that leaves you looking for another sip.
LUKI Brewery – Fire Pit Stout
Back by popular demand, this milk stout has hints of cinnamon, brown sugar and chocolate to bring forth a fantastic gourmet chocolate smoothness to the flavor. This is the perfect sweet stout to sit by the fire as warm up with Stout Month! 5.9% ABV
Our Mutual Friend Brewing – Arafel
This Imperial Coffee Stout is brewed with Troubadour Malt and Novo Coffee. Named in reference to Dune, Arafel means “cloud darkness at the end of the universe. 10% ABV
WeldWerks Brewing Co. – Evil Pastry Stout Factory
Don’t let the name fool you. This beer is back by popular demand! This milk stout is brewed with ALL the dastardly pastry adjuncts, including lactose, peanut flour, maple syrup, and vanilla. Then, for good measure, WeldWerks threw in a dash of maniacal laughter and a pinch of nefarious scheming. Available mid-February. 6.5% ABV.
