Table of Contents
Whether you’re having a small Fall gathering or getting in the seasonal spirit from a distance at home, this list of Autumnal brew-cocktails is bound to impress. As for the most important ingredients, Tavour offers selections from over 600 craft breweries across the nation.
Apple Cider Shandy
An uplifting shandy isn’t just for summer months! This simple shandy is easy to make and delivers crisp autumn refreshment at any time of day. For the best results, opt for a hop-forward, spiced Pumpkin Ale like Pump Action from 4 Noses Brewing.
Ingredients
9 oz chilled Pumpkin Ale
5 oz chilled apple cider
Pint glass (or larger drinking glass of your choice)
Apple slices *optional
Cinnamon stick *optional
Preparation
1. Pour the beer first into a glass, then top with the apple cider. Give it a light stir.
2. Garnish with apple slices and a cinnamon stick if desired, and enjoy!
Spiced Mocha Beertini
As the days start getting darker and chillier, this spiced mocha beertini will warm up any evening. For an extra luscious take, choose a creamy chocolate-coffee Stout like Coffee Coco Van from Hubbard’s Cave. Whether you serve this one up in an actual martini glass or in another glass of your choice, its fall-spice-meets-chocolate-depths are bound to impress even seasoned bartenders.
Ingredients
1.5 oz chilled Stout
1 oz chilled espresso or cold brew coffee
.5 oz Frangelico
Chocolate syrup (optional)
1 tsp ground nutmeg plus some to taste
1 tsp ground cinnamon plus some to taste
1 tsp granulated sugar
Martini glass (or small glass of your choice)
Preparation
1. Sift dry ingredients (nutmeg, cinnamon and sugar) together onto a small plate.
2. Drizzle chocolate syrup in another small plate until it pools. Gently dip your glass upside down in the pool until its entire rim is lined with chocolate. Then, gently dip it in the dry ingredients so they stick all around the rim. (optional)
3. Drizzle chocolate syrup quickly around the inside of the glass. Set the glass aside. (optional)
4. Pour the beer, Frangelico and chilled espresso / coffee into a cocktail shaker or stirring glass. No need for ice. Stir gently for five seconds.
5. Strain out into the prepared (optional) glass, carefully (if you prepped the rim) so it does not splash the prepped rim.
6. Sprinkle a little cinnamon and nutmeg over the top of the cocktail, and enjoy!
Harvest Beer Punch
What’s fall without a good Festbier? This delightful Harvest Beer Punch embraces the fall festival spirit while taking traditional flavors to delicious new heights. To get the most flavorful version of this punch, select a citrus and spice-forward Märzen like Elder Pine Brewing & Blending‘s Festival Lager.
Ingredients
3 oz Märzen
1 oz Bourbon
2 oz apple cider
2 tsp pumpkin purée
Orange Bitters
Cinnamon to taste
Ice
Orange peel *optional
Old Fashioned Glass (or other cocktail glass of your choice)
Preparation
1. Muddle the pumpkin purée and orange bitters with a small pinch of cinnamon in the bottom of the glass. Set the glass aside.
2. Pour the beer in a cocktail shaker or a tall glass and carefully add a few ice cubes. Add the bourbon and apple cider. Stir gently for five seconds.
3. Take the cocktail glass with muddled ingredients and fill halfway with ice. Strain out the liquid contents of the shaker into the glass.
4. If you like, garnish with an orange peel and another sprinkle of cinnamon. Cheers!
