Get a Beer Named After a Family Pet While Raising Funds for the West Suburban Humane Society
West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS wshs-dg.org) has partnered with local Downers Grove brewery, Alter Brewing Company (alterbrewing.com), to raise funds for the WSHS at an inaugural craft beer tasting event on Sunday, March 3, 2019. The event will take place at Alter Brewing’s Barrel Room, located at 2300 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 213, in Downers Grove, Illinois from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Additionally, food from local barbecuers Pitty Que (pittyque.com) will be available. Most importantly, all proceeds from the ticket sales will go directly to the WSHS to benefit the cats and dogs in their shelter.
Raffle tickets will also be sold to benefit the WSHS, and one lucky raffle winner selected that evening will have the opportunity to have an Alter Brewing beer named after their pet, including the likeness of their pet on the beer’s branding. A general admission ticket will include five 5-ounce tastings and appetizers for $50, and a VIP ticket will include five 5-ounce tastings, appetizers, guaranteed seating in the VIP lounge area, and a commemorative beer glass for $75 (please note, this ticket requires the use of stairs).
Tickets are now on sale and may be purchased online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/craft-beer-tasting-tickets-54985525186.
About the West Suburban Humane Society
Founded in 1972 as a lost and found referral service, the volunteer-based West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS), located at 1901 West Ogden Avenue in Downers Grove, Illinois, is dedicated to operating an animal shelter to find safe, permanent, compatible homes through the adoption of domestic cats and dogs. Servicing the six counties of DuPage, Will, Cook, Kane, Kendall, Lake and McHenry, WSHS believes in educating the community on humane and responsible dog and cat care as a means of ending the unnecessary euthanasia of adoptable companion animals, as well as controlling pet overpopulation by spaying and neutering all animals in their care and encouraging pet owners to do the same. WSHS works for animal advocacy, care and education through fundraising. For more information about WSHS or to donate, please call 630-960-9600 or visit www.wshs-dg.org and follow them on social networks Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
