Master of Pumpkins Returns: A Taste of Fall from Tröegs Brewery

Tröegs Independent Brewery is joyfully welcoming the fall season with the much-anticipated return of Master of Pumpkins.

Every year, this Hershey, PA-based brewery embarks on a pumpkin quest, sourcing over 3,000 pounds of locally grown Pennsylvania longneck pumpkins to craft this exceptional brew.

To us, a pumpkin beer should have pumpkin,” says brewmaster and co-founding brother John Trogner. “We’re a Pennsylvania brewery, and pumpkins grow really well here, so using Pennsylvania pumpkins just makes sense. Our fans definitely appreciate the connection to local agriculture”

Following the harvest, the dedicated brewery team meticulously prepares the pumpkins, cleaning, cutting, roasting, and puréeing them before adding the flavorful puree directly to the mash tun at the inception of the brewing process.
