Urgent Appeal: Support Anchor Employees to Preserve Their Brewery’s Legacy

Over the past week, an overwhelming number of supporters from San Francisco and across the US have joined forces, signing multiple petitions urging Sapporo to do the right thing and allow Anchor Brewing Company employees to purchase their beloved brewery.

Initially, Sapporo had planned to transfer all assets to a third-party seller, providing extensive financial data to potential buyers. However, when Anchor’s employees requested time to put in a bid for ownership, Sapporo initially claimed to consider it. Yet, recent reports indicate that they have now denied providing similar financial data to the Union, citing proximity to their deadline as the reason.

Today marks a pivotal moment that will determine how the nearly 120-year-old brewery’s future unfolds, and whether its dedicated employees can shape its destiny.
