With World Paloma Day quickly approaching on Saturday, May 22nd, fans of the classic cocktail will be looking for fresh, original Paloma recipes that combine tequila, lime, and grapefruit juice in new and interesting ways. Luckily for those celebrating the history of Mexico’s national cocktail, 1800 Tequila offers two new spins on the classic Paloma, utilizing the unique qualities of their Silver and Cristalino expressions to create delicious Paloma cocktails that taste far greater than the sum of their parts.

1800 Spiced Paloma
Ingredients
- 2 oz 1800 Silver
- ¾ oz grapefruit juice
- ½ oz lime juice
- ¾ oz cinnamon syrup*
Instructions
- Directions: Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake with ice. Strain into a highball glass over fresh ice, and top with soda. Garnish with grapefruit slices and a cinnamon stick *Cinnamon syrup can be replaced with ¾ oz. of simple syrup and a heavy shake of grated cinnamon
1800 Clarified Paloma
Ingredients
- 2 oz 1800 Cristalino
- 5 oz grapefruit soda
- 2 lime wedges
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a salt-rimmed highball glass with ice and stir. Top with soda and stir gently to combine. Garnish with half a grapefruit wheel.
1800 Spiced Blood Orange
Ingredients
- 2 oz 1800 Añejo
- 3 oz freshly-squeezed blood orange juice
- 1½ oz freshly-squeezed grapefruit juice
- ½ oz freshly-squeezed lime juice
- 1 oz agave nectar
Instructions
- Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake with ice. Strain into a coarse spiced salt-rimmed highball glass over fresh ice, and top with a splash of club soda. Garnish with thinly-sliced blood orange, grapefruit, or lime.
1800 Citrus Paloma
Ingredients
- 2½ oz 1800 Silver
- Juice of ½ grapefruit
- 2 tbsp orange juice
- 2 tbsp orange simple syrup
- 2 lime wedges
- 8 mint leaves
Instructions
- Muddle lime wedges and mint in a cocktail shaker, then add all other ingredients and shake with ice. Strain into a highball glass over fresh ice, and top with a splash of club soda. Garnish with a sprig of mint and an orange slice.
1800 Paloma Classico
Ingredients
- 2 oz 1800 Reposado
- 3 oz grapefruit juice
- ½ oz fresh-squeezed lime juice
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake with ice. Strain over fresh ice in a highball glass and garnish with a grapefruit slice.
