Schlafly Beer Announces Merry Berry Ale

Schlafly Beer, the largest locally owned craft brewer in St Louis, announces a new Special Release beer, Merry Berry Ale. Inspired by the sweet flavors of a French pastry, the deep red Merry Berry Ale (6.0%, 15 IBUs) features blackberry, raspberry and blueberry with undertones of lemon and vanilla. Merry Berry Ale is available now across Schlafly’s distribution through the remainder of the year.

Available at the height of holiday baking season, Merry Berry Ale offers a refreshing alternative to dark winter warmers. “We wanted to brew a bright and tart alternative to other beers that are traditionally higher ABV and super spice-forward this time of year,” says Founding Brewer Stephen Hale. “This is the beer for your aunt who doesn’t think she likes craft beer. It’s an easy drinking beer, perfect to pair with your favorite dessert.”

Merry Berry Ale’s aroma offers a nose of pastry crust and fruit-forward sweetness. “To me, it brings back those memories of waiting for pies to come out of the oven,” says Stephen Hale. As the beer warms, the berry flavors continue to develop. The beer also impresses with its vibrant red color, yet offers an approachable ABV and light body for the masses.

Merry Berry is Schlafly Beer’s final Special Release beer this year, following Double Bean Blonde, Coconut Crème Ale and Pumpkin Ale. Six-packs of Merry Berry Ale will be available across Schlafly’s distribution for $9.99 suggested retail price as well as on draft at both Schlafly Tap Room and Bottleworks as well as other on-premise locations.
