Explore the history of wine and the fundamentals of the winemaking process. This course can be taken as a stand-alone course or as the first course in the Winemaking Certificate Program.

Designed for professionals in the wine industry, this intensive course will teach you the basics of wine filtration systems through a combination of in-person and remote lectures, real-time manufacturer demonstration videos and lab exercises.

    Topics in Wine Analysis: Color and Tannin Measurement Online: Discover the fascinating and complex world of wine phenolics and the importance of these compounds during the different stages of the winemaking process. Examine the chemistry of the phenolic families and the various methods of analyses, as well as how to conduct and interpret these procedures. Learn methods for quantifying color and copigmentation so you can measure the yellow to brown on white wines and red to brown in red wines, and acquire tools to relate these numbers to sensory aspects of the wines.
