Surly Brewing Co. is sponsoring the Amon Amarth metal show at Mill City Nights in Minneapolis on Saturday, February 8 and brewed a special limited release beer: ASATOR, a dark IPA with peated malt, fermented on oak.

Three of our production crew’s favorite bands – Amon Amarth, a Swedish melodic death metal band, Enslaved and Skeletonwitch will be bringing thunder to Mill City Nights as part of the Deceiver of the Gods North American tour.

Asator – Surly Viking IPA is a beer fit for battle, fermented on oak with a ruddy brown color. The ale was brewed with peated, brown and crystal malts to create a shield wall of malt flavors, only to be hacked apart by a swinging sword of hops!

The beer takes its name from an Amon Amarth song title, and the ‘shattered helm’ artwork for the beer and the show invokes Ragnarok, the Twilight of the Norse Gods.

Asator will be poured first at the concert, and for a very limited time at the brewery’s Taproom starting on Wednesday, February 12. We’ll also be doing concert ticket and Asator poster giveaways next week in the Taproom and on Facebook.

Be sure to follow us on Social Media as we invade more breweries and discover more awesome craft beers from all over the world! Cheers humans!
