This next beer comes from the San Diego behemoth, Stone Brewing. The Pale Ale 2.0 is a reimagining of the first beer released by Stone’s original brewmaster back in 1996. Brewed with Mandarina Bavaria hops from Germany, the beer aims to bring a nice balance of hoppy, fruity, bitter, and malty flavors.

Appearance: The Stone Pale Ale 2.0 pours a light amber color with a small creamy head.

Aroma: A pleasant blend of hoppy and fruity aromas, with citrus undertones.

Taste: The beer is properly bitter on the forefront, followed by a fruity and citrusy orange flavor. The hoppy flavor is joined by subtle floral and herbaceous notes, ending in the back of the mouth with a lingering malty taste. The taste comes across as diverse and well balanced between the bitter and fruity flavors.

Mouthfeel: This ale has a medium body and a crisp feel.

Overall: This beer comes across as a good crowd-pleaser. The European malts and hops used in this beer provide an interesting blend of fruity and citrus flavors that go well with the typical bitter overtone. With an IBU rating of 50, it wont come off as too strong. Its refreshing to see Stone give this classic brew a more unique and interesting flavor profile.
