Stone Brewing Co.’s latest Stochasticity Project beer is Stochasticity Project: Your Father Smelt Of Elderberries. As described by Stone Brewing:

Bready malt and herbal hop flavors get along merrily with the pinch of tartness from the beer’s berry character. It’s a modern, 10.3% alcohol-by-volume take on a historic English ale the Knights of the Round Table would have heartily enjoyed.

Style: Ancient Ale

ABV: 10.3%

IBUs: 50

Pours red with purple hues and a thin off-white head.

There is a lot going on, with bready yeast character followed by smoked malt and hints of fruit and berries.

Maltiness and light peat smoke upfront, berry fruit character in the middle, and some alcohol warmth and strong bitterness on the finish.
