Ska Brewing’s Decadent Imperial IPA is featured in their recently released “Hoptions” variety 12-pack. This award winning IPA may be hoppy, but it’s also extremely drinkable. So don’t let the IBUs fool you, this IPA is surprisingly malty and sweet! It’s a great IPA to try, especially with the summer months approaching, and it’s most definitely a craft brew that IPA lovers will enjoy.

Appearance: This imperial IPA from Ska pours a nice light golden, amber colour. It has a clear body with a minimal head and lacing around the glass.

Aroma: The aroma is filled with citrusy hops, with notes of grapefruit and lemon zest that stand out. It also has a sense of maltiness to it with hints of pine, mixed spices and mild apple.

IMG_0127Taste: The taste matches the aroma of this IPA. The hops are fresh and up-front, yet not overpowering. It’s got some malty sweetness to it, along with hints of citrus and tropical fruit, as noted in the aroma.

Mouthfeel: It’s medium, almost full bodied, but is smooth and creamy. There’s just a hint of bitterness at the end of each sip, as well as a clean dry finish.
